Golden Alexander features flattened heads of small yellow flowers that bloom in late spring to early summer. These delicate blooms rest atop thick, glossy foliage. Golden Alexander is a member of the carrot family but can be distinguished by the absence of a flower stalk on the central flower of each umbel. It is a host plant for the black swallowtail butterfly. Beautiful choice for perennial and open woodland gardens. Use in butterfly gardens. Adds good texture and color contrast in a native garden. Will do well in an area where it can naturalize. Can be used in dried flower arrangements.
